Time Travel with Melvyn
Time Travel with Melvyn : A History of the Piano A benefit concert that raised $68,000 for the charity Viva Foundation for Children with Cancer.
Following his homecoming debut in 2011, Melvyn has been enthusiastically received by music lovers in his appearances with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, the Orchestra of Music Makers, and at concerts at the National Museum. In appreciation, Melvyn gave back to the community by donating his time performing in aid of the Viva Foundation for Children with Cancer.
In a specially themed concert that acknowledged his specialty in period instruments and his passion for Beethoven, Mozart and French music, Melvyn brought audiences through 250 years of musical history performing on three keyboards – the harpsichord. the forte-piano and the modern piano.
This spellbinding first-of-its-kind concert raised $68,000 for Viva Foundation. CultureLink donated its services to present the concert and fund-raise.
