Goh Ching Lee is recognized as a key personality behind the arts renaissance in Singapore. She is the former Director of the Singapore Arts Festival from 2000-2009 and Senior Director of Performing Arts at the Narional Arts Council.

She has been credited with infusing Festival with an innovative character noted internationally for its inter-cultural and interdisciplinary interests. She played an instrumental role in developing Singapore Season, a programme showcasing Singapore’s arts overseas which was first launched in London in 2005 and later in China (Beijing, Shanghai) in 2007 and Edinburgh 2009. She initiated the Association of Asian Performing Arts Festivals and served as its first chairperson from 2004 to 2009.

Ching Lee is the recipient of the  Officier and Chevlier de l’Orde des Arts et des Lettres by the French government for her contributions to the arts in Singapore, and The Public Administration Medal (Silver) conferred by the President of Singpore.

Following the critical and box-office success of her 10th edition of the Singapore Arts Festival in June 2009, Ching Lee started her own arts consultancy and management company CultureLink, continuing her passion supporting innovative artists and serving as a cultural bridge between Asia and Europe through the arts.

In her extensive career in the cultural sector, she had been involved in various fields including arts policy, research, venue management, festivals and events development, international cultural exchange. She is particularly noted for her role in developing and transforming national and international events in the performing, visual and literary arts in Singapore, as well as in fostering international cultural relations and artistic exchanges.

Ching Lee holds an MA in Arts Management from the City University of London and a Bachelor of Arts Hons in History from the National University of Singapore.
