Hey! Are You a Creative Producer
“Behind a successful artist stands a creative producer.”
While we understand the role of artists and arts managers, less is known about the role and function of creative producers. What is the place and value of creative producers as intermediaries in Singapore’s arts ecology? What are the aptitudes, skills-set and support systems that will help creative producers to thrive?
“Hey! Are You a Creative Producer?” brings together for the first time industry veterans and aspirants in a public sharing session to discuss the role and relevance of creative producers in Singapore’s performing arts sector today. Speakers include Jeremiah Choy, Goh Ching Lee, Ngiam Su-Lin and Tang Fu Kuen. We welcome producers, arts managers, production personnel, programmers, artists, and anyone interested to attend.
Organised by CultureLink with support from Centre 42 and NAC, this event is in conjunction with the Creative Producers Development Programme (CPDP) which opens its second call for applications in June. Launched in 2015, the Programme aims at nurturing highly motivated and committed individuals who aspire to engage in creative producing. Two of the participants, Chin Woon Ying and Tania Goh, will share their experiences during the session.
